Held for the 12th time this year, the League of Legends soccer blitz saw over 130 boys and girls from eight Limerick city primary schools tog out for a highly competitive day of soccer. The annual tournament is a joint venture between the Transforming Education through Dialogue (TED) project, an MIC initiative with primary and post-primary schools, and the PLUS schools network comprising representatives from fourteen local schools. Based within the Curriculum Development Unit at MIC, TED engages with the schools in activities and programmes throughout the school year.

Over 2,300 students from across the MidWest participated in Limerick Science Week, co-hosted by MIC, UL and TUS. This year's festival celebrated 'Being Human' and presented a range of activities and experiences to celebrate the role of science and STEM in the lives of people in the Mid-West region. MIC's Department of STEM Education was awarded €12,000 in funding by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) to support their role in the Festival.
The Leadership for Inclusion in the Early Years (LINC) Programme successfully hosted its first International LINC Conference at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, on Saturday, 27 September 2025. Themed “Making Inclusion a Reality for All Children: Merging Theory and Practice to Create Spaces Where All Children Belong,” the one-day event brought together early years providers, inclusion coordinators (INCO’s), educators, teachers and principals, policymakers, academics, researchers, and parents to exchange ideas and celebrate inclusive practice.
