On Saturday 22 April (MIC Thurles) and on Thursday 27 April (MIC Limerick) Mary Immaculate College will welcome prospective students, their parents and guidance counsellors to its campuses for the College’s Student Experience Days.

This April and May we will open our campuses in Thurles and Limerick to prospective students who would like to get a sense of what it is like to be an MIC student.

Thinking about postgraduate study but still have questions? Mary Immaculate College (MIC) is hosting a series of Postgraduate Live Online Q&A Information Sessions this March for the Faculty of Arts & Faculty of Education, designed to give prospective students the chance to ask questions, explore options, and hear directly from the people who know MIC’s postgraduate programmes best.

Students and visitors coming to Mary Immaculate College from overseas can fly into the nearest international airport, Shannon Airport, which is under 30 minutes' drive from Limerick City. Limerick City is also easily accessible from Cork and Dublin Airports. For MIC, St Patrick's Campus, Thurles, Shannon and Cork Airports are the closest airports while Dublin is also an option.

Mary Immaculate College, in association with Ulster University, The University of Melbourne Irish Historical Studies, The Hunt Museum and Limerick Museum, will host the Ghosts in Britain and Ireland 1500-1950 History Conference on Friday 25 - Sunday 27 June, 2025.

A new video promoting Limerick’s vibrant student life is ready to captivate a global audience of international students. The International Limerick Student City video has been produced by the Marketing and Communications Department at Limerick City and County Council in collaboration with University of Limerick (UL), Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and Mary Immaculate College (MIC). The video emphasises not only the academic excellence that Limerick offers but also the importance of students immersing themselves in the excitement of city life and enjoying the perfect home away from home.

Mary Immaculate College (MIC) in partnership with the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick (UL) hosted the 17th International Conference on Cultural Diversity in Music Education (CDIME) from September 30 to October 2 2025. The landmark event brought nearly 100 delegates from more than 20 countries to Limerick, where they explored the theme, Living Diversity, Imagining Inclusivity. The event was led by Conference Chair, Dr Ailbhe Kenny, Associate Professor of Music Education at MIC.

An MIC student has been awarded a Global Undergraduate Award in recognition of the academic strength of her final-year thesis on cultural diversity and representation in children’s animated films. Wicklow native, Lola Parsons, who graduated from MIC’s BA in Early Childhood Care & Education (BA ECCE) last October, was Highly Commended by the Awards before further being announced as the Island of Ireland winner in the Education category.

A Mary Immaculate College (MIC) student has been awarded the Gold Gaisce medal by President Michael D Higgins at a special event at Áras an Uachtaráin. Second year Bachelor of Education in Education & Psychology student Sarah Ryan Purcell was one of 79 people from across Ireland to be presented with the prestigious award by the President in recognition of their commitment to volunteering and personal development.
