Seán is currently undertaking PhD research at University College Dublin as part of the Children's School Lives study. The research focuses on nurturing pedagogies in three DEIS schools as perceived by children, their families, and teachers.

 

Seán holds a B.Ed. in Education and Psychology from Mary Immaculate College and an M.Ed. in Applied Studies in Teaching and Learning from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Before coming to MIC, Seán taught in a DEIS Band 1 primary school in Cork City in both mainstream and special education contexts, as well as at an alternative secondary education setting.

 

At MIC, Seán lectures on undergraduate and postgraduate modules related to educational psychology, developmental psychology, assessment, inclusive education, and behaviour, as well as engaging in the supervision of undergraduate research in psychology and postgraduate research in inclusive education.
