A Castletroy College student has been awarded first place at the Limerick Mathematical Olympiad 2022. Rory Moore took top prize ahead of a three-way split of second place shared between Castletroy College’s Myron Butler, Kilrush Community School’s Nikodem Dutkiewicz and Aaron Waldron of Mungret Community College. Third place was awarded to Diego Sun from Glenstal Abbey, Murroe.

Mary Immaculate College celebrates 60 years of teaching philosophy on 12 March 2025. We want to invite our former and current students (in both the Faculty of Arts and Education), Philosophy staff, and friends to an evening of talks and dialogue about the importance and relevance of philosophy in today’s world.

Mary Immaculate College (MIC) has a strong tradition in the native arts since 1898, boasting an impressive roll-call of traditional musicians & singers as Alumni. Next Wednesday, 9 March, for the first time, they come together for a celebration of this tradition on the Lime Tree Theatre stage.
The achievements of women across a broad spectrum of Irish life will be celebrated at Mary Immaculate College (MIC) during FemFest, which makes a welcome return this March for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The week-long event, held at MIC’s Limerick campus, will showcase and celebrate the works of Irish women at a national, regional, local and institutional level. The week-long line up is born of cooperation between staff and students, as well as external academics and community groups, and promises something of interest to everyone.
The part-time Certificate in Christian Leadership in Education at Mary Immaculate College is designed to augment other qualifications participants may have achieved in areas of leadership and management so that they have the knowledge, competence and skills needed to lead a faith-based school.
Creating a ‘community of practice’ and demystifying the processes around safeguarding to create a safer world was the focus of a Diocese of Limerick Interagency Safeguarding Conference held at Mary Immaculate College on 16 May. The event, entitled ‘Working Together to Protect Children and Adults Who May be Vulnerable’, saw representatives from Tusla, the HSE and An Garda Síochána make presentations to around 60 attendees. The gathering included staff from relevant agencies, members of religious communities and laypeople.
The Champions of Inclusion and Diversity using Meaningful Physical Education (CHAMP-INC-MPE) project uses meaningfulness as a lens to promote more equal opportunities in children’s physical education experiences. The project runs from 15 September 2023 until 15 September 2026. This project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.
