Santa Claus came to town and made a special detour to Mary Immaculate College last week (5 December), to make an appearance at the MIC Student Parent Christmas Party where he danced, played games and read a Christmas tale or two. The event was organised by Rob O’Halloran (Path 3 Project Officer) and Jeannette Ferguson (Student Academic Administration) who embarked on recreating the magic of Christmas for student parents and their children. “We were so delighted to have had Santa return to campus again this year. The MIC student parents are a very impressive and dedicated group of students who work extremely hard to attain their degree whilst also caring for their families, so it was nice to offer up something small at Christmas time. This group includes parents from the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching), postgraduate programmes and mature student cohorts,” explained Rob.

Mary Immaculate College is delighted to announce details of this year’s Alumni Reunion which will take place on Saturday 7 October 2023 from 2pm until 5pm.

Mary Immaculate College has a range of initiatives for incoming students, to provide financial and academic support. These include entrance and sports scholarships, and CAO concessions. Once students have been accepted to/are attending the College, there are bursaries and awards for undergraduates and postgraduates to provide financial and practical assistance, and aid them in pursuing further study. Some schemes are specific to, and funded by, MIC while others are funded by the Irish Government and the EU.

MIC realises that financial support structures for students undertaking postgraduate research at our college are critical in attracting world-class students to our campus. Students pursuing or intending to pursue research postgraduate degrees in Arts or Education are eligible to apply for MIC awards.

Learn how students on Education programmes at MIC spend time in schools each year, or at specific points, of their programme, to gain practical classroom experience. Placements are sourced by the College and by students themselves. The College is indebted to the hundreds of schools and over 2,000 co-operating teachers who facilitate our students each year.
