The Beginning
A new Strategic Plan (2012-2016) is approved by the College’s Governing Body, with the design of a new library to 21st Century standards being its central objective.
Appointed as College President in 2011, Prof. Michael Hayes makes accomplishment of the objective to develop a new library a key institutional priority and by the time MIC is readying itself to draw up a new strategic plan for the period 2017-2023 significant progress is made.
The Library Feasibility Assessment (BDP) Report is published, recommending the design and construction of a new 5,000 sq m library at MIC Limerick.

Prof. Eugene Wall succeeds Prof. Michael Hayes as College President in 2017 and builds on the achievements established by his predecessor, injecting renewed impetus into the objective of delivering the vision for an all-new, and fully fit-for-purpose Library Building.
