The 6th annual Tipperary Festival of Science takes place this November, with an exciting line-up of science, sports, superheroes, skincare and STEM in-person and online events, shows and workshops guaranteeing something for everyone. Sponsored by Mary Immaculate College (MIC), Science Foundation Ireland and the Irish American Partnership, the popular event returns from 13 to 20 November 2022.

With school kids off for the summer, the annual question of what to do to keep them occupied springs to fore once again. MIC's CRAFT Maker Space are holding five summer camps with students from across the Mid-West where science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) are blended in a fun and educational way.
As the leading third-level institution in Ireland in the provision of programmes in the teaching of STEAM at primary and second level, MIC is committed to promoting STEAM among early years, primary and second level students, teachers, parents and the general public, through a wide range of outreach activities and events.
STEAMing is a three-year programme (September 2019–August 2022) of research and development in STEAM education and training. The project addresses the need, identified by all European countries, to increase knowledge and competence in STEAM (Science, Technology, Art and Design, and Mathematics) education, at all levels, in order to foster essential innovation and creativity.
