The CAO Round 1 offers for 2024 were made today (Wednesday, 28 August) and MIC has two of the education programmes with the highest points in the country. The College’s four-year B Ed in Education and Psychology (MI008) degree, the only one of its type in Ireland, not only remains a highly sought-after programme attracting the highest calibre of applicant but the 2024 CAO minimum points requirement of 590 makes it, along with MIC’s Bachelor of Education – International (MI004), the teacher education programme with the highest points in the country.  MIC’s unique Bachelor of Education – International is a four-year, full-time, honours degree (Level 8) designed to qualify students to be primary teachers, with the addition of an international study component. The programme remains popular with the minimum points requirement at an impressive 565.

With the new academic year now in full swing Mary Immaculate College (MIC) is delighted to open the doors of its Limerick campus and invite prospective students to explore all that MIC has to offer. Mary Immaculate College (MIC) has formally entered into a new three-year partnership with Teachers College (TC), Columbia University, marking a significant step in the College’s ongoing commitment to international collaboration in education, research and practice. The partnership was established through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding earlier this month.

Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless TD and Minister for Education and Youth, Hildegarde Naughton TD, today announced details of an exciting and innovative new five-year tertiary pathway into primary teaching, marking a national first in teacher education. This strategically distinctive programme, which will be delivered by Mary Immaculate College (MIC), in partnership with Tipperary Education and Training Board (TETB) and Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (LCETB), is designed to broaden access to the Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching) by providing an additional entry route outside of the traditional Leaving Certificate pathway.

Events are held in venues across Tipperary as well as online to explore and celebrate STEM and the application of the scientific method.

Mary Immaculate College (MIC) played a central role in a national showcase highlighting inclusive education in post-primary schools across Ireland. The Realising Inclusive Special Education (RISE) Showcase, held in Naas on 16 April, brought together more than 200 schools and education partners to share approaches supporting student learning, participation and belonging.
