On Friday 20 March, Mary Immaculate College Showed Racism the Red Card.
March 21 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This day has been observed since 1966, commemorating the Sharpeville Massacre in South Africa - where over 60 peaceful protestors were killed by police while protesting against the Apartheid State's pass laws.
Organized by MIC’s Inaugural Race Equality and Sanctuary Manager, Dr Lylian Fotabong, MIC staff and students showed their support and commitment to ending racial discrimination by wearing red on campus.
