This project seeks to address some of the challenges associated with assessment overload and reliance on traditional modes of assessment through the piloting, development and evaluation of programmatic assessment strategies which are grounded in disciplinary contexts and aligned to institutional needs

Working in collaboration, LEAD, faculty members and student advocates will seek to explore and apply a contextualised model for mapping assessment practices within a programme and identifying opportunities for more integrated and holistic assessment practices and the adoption of a variety of modes of assessment across a programme. The project will evaluate the model in terms of how it can enhance the learning experience of students and the teaching experience of staff in HE

Assessment Byte Series

Welcome to the Assessment Byte Series which aims to provide a succinct review of key literature, research and practice on a number of prominent, emergent and innovative assessment themes relevant for higher education contexts and for consideration in the context of the Céim: New Standards for Teacher Education (Teaching Council, 2020).

Led by Dr. Suzanne Parkinson, recipient of a TALIS Scholarship 2021/22 and funded by the SATLE initiative from the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in association with LEAD at MIC.
