Graduation

All eligible students will receive a detailed email with all information required regarding conferring ceremony times, location, gowning, photography, etc. 

You are required to confirm your attendance or non-attendance via the online registration link, which will be sent to you by email to your MIC student email account. If you are having difficulty accessing your MIC student email account please contact ICT Helpdesk at icthelpdesk@mic.ul.ie 

Students who cannot attend their conferring ceremony will be conferred in absentia and must complete the registration form confirming their non-attendance. Parchments will be posted to the address you provide on this form. 

Due to the limited parking facilities on the grounds and the large numbers attending, it would be in your own interest to make alternative parking arrangements. Once parking has reached full capacity on the College grounds, no additional cars will be allowed on campus. Please ensure that you allow yourself adequate time in order that you are seated in the conferring venue 30 minutes in advance of your ceremony.

Unfortunately, conferrings cannot be deferred.

As well as your own choice of clothing, you are required to wear academic dress.

Academic robes may be hired from Phelan Conan. For further details, please see www.phelanconan.com, email info@phelanconan.com or phone +353 1 4295300.

You are required to be present in the appropriate academic dress and seated in your correct place 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the ceremony.

The average duration of a ceremony is typically 1.5 hours. Students must remain in the venue for the full duration of the ceremony.

Each graduand who will be attending their conferring ceremony is entitled to up to a maximum of three guest invitations, depending on availability. 

Please note that once the venue has reached capacity having an invitation will not guarantee entry to the Lime Tree Theatre and your guests will be seated in an adjacent venue, T118 in the Tara building, where the proceedings can be viewed on screen.

To ensure the comfort of families, children and other guests, it will also be necessary to seat parents with young children (under 6) in T118 which is adjacent to the Lime Tree Theatre. It is not necessary to have an invitation to gain entry to this venue.

Yes. If any graduands are in need of special accommodations or assistance at the upcoming conferring ceremonies, please complete the relevant form which will be available in Autumn 2026.

Yes, a photography service will be available. Further information to follow.

Yes, a framing service will be available. Further information to follow.

Light refreshments will be provided to graduands and guests.

Information in relation to your seat number for the LINC Programme Graduation Ceremony will be emailed to you in advance of the ceremony itself.

Guests will then be directed to an alternative room where they can watch the live ceremony. It will also be necessary to seat parents with young children (under 6) in this room to ensure the comfort of families, children and other guests.

The graduation can be viewed on a screen in this room.
