Inclusive Music Education: Exploring Assistive and Digital Technologies for Primary and Post-Primary Schools
This course is designed to enable primary, special education and/or post-primary teachers to engage in inclusive music pedagogies and digital technologies with a view to adapting them for use in their own classrooms to strengthen learner agency and access.

The overall aims of the course are to:
- Engage teachers in a practical, meaningful experience using inclusive music pedagogies for inclusive music-making classroom practices, that includes diverse learners and resources to promote equity, inclusion and diversity.
- Evaluate low-threshold adaptive, assistive and digital musical instruments and digital music technologies by exploring inclusive music-making approaches that can be replicated in classrooms.
- Equip teachers with the knowledge and skills required to plan across the curriculum (arts education, languages, literacy, STEAM, SESE, SPHE) and across school contexts, to promote pupil engagement and learning.
Over the course, participants will first engage in hands-on workshop activities using adaptive, assistive, and digital musical instruments and tools. Each day, participants will also reflect on and integrate these experiences into the design of inclusive, digitally-enhanced music lessons for their own classrooms, fostering learner agency and access.
