Mature Student Experience at MIC
Pat is a second year student from Charleville, who has returned to education as a mature student after 45 years of farming - fulfilling his lifelong dream of going to college.
A Bachelor of Arts student, studying English and History, with Philosophy as his elective, Pat reflects on the inspiration behind his decision to come back to learning and how he’s embracing life as a mature student at MIC. It was always in the back of Pat's mind.
Pat loves reading novels, and MIC appealed to him because he wanted a small, friendly, close-knit community. He has always been interested in History, English, and Philosophy. He especially enjoys history, as it helps him understand his identity as an Irish person and challenges him to think more deeply.
