Eleanor Walsh is STEM Outreach Manager at CRAFT (Creative Arts Future Technologies) Maker Space. She holds a PhD in Mathematics from University College Dublin and leads the development of STEM education and public engagement programmes that connect research, industry and communities under the CRAFT umbrella. Eleanor has secured funding from Research Ireland and Dept of Education & Youth, and has developed and delivered initiatives in partnership with leading organisations including Dell Technologies, Regeneron, JLR, Engineers Ireland and on national initiatives like Science Week and Maths Week. She is a member of the EU STEM Futures Squad and the Explore Engineering group. Eleanor has published peer-reviewed research and presented widely on STEM education, with particular interests in integrated STEM, maker education and the Engineering Design Process. Her work has influenced STEM learning opportunities across formal and informal education settings, and in 2026 CRAFT received an Education Award recognising excellence in outreach and engagement. Eleanor also led and developed the rollout of national Time to Count numeracy programme with Business in the Community Ireland for companies and schools thoughout Ireland.
