Mary Immaculate College (MIC) welcomed more than 200 visitors across its Limerick and Thurles campuses on Friday 18 September for Culture Night 2026, with a programme of free events celebrating culture, heritage, music, art and history.
At MIC Limerick, visitors explored the historic Summerville House on a guided tour led by Dr Paul O’Brien, Assistant Professor in Social & Environmental Education, enjoyed a performance by Half Arsed Half Biscuit featuring Visual Arts Technician Niall Quinn and guests, and took part in a bilingual Ogham workshop with Elaine Dold, Comhordaitheoir Seirbhísí Gaeilge. The evening concluded with the Culture Night Concert in the MIC Chapel, curated by Dr Michael Murphy and Tony Doyle, featuring Limerick musicians and singers alongside MIC staff and students.
At MIC Thurles, visitors took part in guided historical tours of St Patrick’s Campus led by Ruth Talbot, Librarian at MIC Thurles, followed by performances from MIC student and award-winning uilleann piper Muireann Meade and the Thurles Community Orchestra.
