Minister Simon Harris discusses proposed new library building during Limerick campus visit

Minister for Further & Higher Education, Research, Innovation & Science, Simon Harris TD, visited MIC's Limerick campus on Monday to meet with senior management to discuss progressing plans for a new library building.

Speaking during his visit, Minister Harris said: “I am in Limerick today to discuss how we progress a proposal for the new Library building for Mary Immaculate College, which I know is of huge importance to college staff and students.”

Minister Harris also met with Aoife Gleeson, Vice-President of Mary Immaculate Students' Union and with library staff. MIC Librarian Áine Finucane guided the Minister on a tour of the existing building. 

While on campus, the Minister also visited the John Henry Newman building and was updated on the construction of a new exhibition space there.
