Irish Research Council 2019 Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Recipients Tracy McCarthy & Shane O'Neill

On behalf of the Mary Immaculate College Research & Graduate School, I am honoured and delighted to congratulate the two MIC recipients of the 2019 Irish Research Council Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme. 

Prof. Jim Deegan, Head of Graduate School MIC & Tracy MCCarthy IRC Awardee

Tracy McCarthy, PhD student, Department of History, was awarded a Postgraduate Scholarship for a novel research thesis project entitled, “Politics, Disaffection and Rebellion in Connacht, 1775-1800.  Tracy’s research thesis project is supervised by Dr Liam Chambers, Head of the Department of History.

Shane O’Neill, PhD student, Department of Drama and Theatre Studies was awarded a Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship for a novel research thesis project entitled, “Analysing Samuel Beckett’s Self-Translation Process through his Dramatic Works”.  Shane’s research thesis project is supervised by Dr. David Clare and Dr Michael Finneran, Department of Drama and Theatre Studies. 

The Research & Graduate School recognises this wonderful academic achievement and personal accomplishment and is delighted to celebrate with Tracy and Shane, and their families, friends, and colleagues.
