Graduation

All eligible students will receive a detailed email with information regarding conferring ceremony times, location, gowning, photography, etc. 

You are required to confirm your attendance or non-attendance via the online registration link, which will also be sent to your MIC student email account. If you are having difficulty accessing your MIC student email account please contact ICT Helpdesk, Email: ICTHelpdesk@mic.ul.ie.

Students who cannot attend their conferring ceremony will be conferred in absentia and must complete the registration form confirming their non-attendance. Parchments will be posted to the address you provide on this form. 

Due to the limited parking facilities on the grounds and the large numbers attending, it would be in your own interest to make alternative parking arrangements. Once parking has reached full capacity on the College grounds, no additional cars will be allowed on campus. Please ensure that you allow yourself adequate time in order that you are seated in the conferring venue 30 minutes in advance of your ceremony.

Unfortunately, conferrings cannot be deferred.

As well as your own choice of clothing, you are required to wear academic dress.

Academic robes may be hired from Phelan Conan. You need to book and pay for your robes before midnight Tuesday 13 October 2026 and it is your responsibility to do so. The cost of hiring a set of robes is €43 for pre-booked robes (which is strongly recommended) or €45 on the day. If you have not booked your LINC-specific robes, then it will not be possible to take part in the conferring ceremony.

Due to the implementation of a personal 3D secure password during the credit card payment process on www.phelanconan.com, Phelan Conan Ltd staff are no longer able to take bookings over the phone. This has been created to protect your online payments and if you don’t already have a 3D secure password you can activate it by following the simple instructions during the booking process. If you experience any further problems with 3D secure process, please contact your bank.

Once booked, you can collect your robes in Room T107, Tara Building on the MIC Campus at the following times:

• 9am - 11am, Saturday 17 October 2026

 All robes must be returned following the ceremony by 1.30pm on Saturday 17 October 2026.

You are required to be present in the appropriate academic dress and seated in your correct place 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the ceremony.

The average duration of a ceremony is typically 1.5 hours. Students must remain in the venue for the full duration of the ceremony.

Each graduand who will be attending their conferring ceremony is entitled to up to a maximum of 3 guest invitations, depending on availability, for the LINC (Certificate in Leadership for INClusion in the Early Years) conferring ceremony, which takes place on Saturday 17 October 2026. 

It will not be possible to admit anyone without an official ticket. You can select the number of guest tickets that you will require on the Registration Link provided above. Once you have completed registration, you will receive an email to your Student email address from MIC, approximately two weeks before the Graduation Ceremony, outlining your seat number for the Graduation Ceremony and the email will also include a link for you to book your guest tickets for the Graduation Ceremony. Once this task has been completed, the tickets for the Graduation Ceremony will then be emailed to your student email address and it is your responsibility to ensure that you have your ticket plus your tickets for your guests available on the day.

Guests arriving earliest will be seated in the main conferring venue, which is the Lime Tree Theatre. Guests arriving after the main venue has reached capacity will be required to sit in the Graduation Family & Friends Lounge (T118) where the proceedings will be live streamed. Guests without tickets will also be accommodated in this venue. Guest tickets are not allocated a seat number.

Just to note that graduates will be seated together and families and friends will be seated behind.

For families attending with young children, we have arranged a dedicated Graduation Family & Friends Lounge (T118), where the ceremony proceedings will be live streamed. We kindly ask that children under 6 remain in the Lounge with a parent/guardian for the duration of the Ceremony.

LINC Graduation 2026 – Additional Assistance Request Form

While graduands, families and friends are welcome to bring their own cameras, Lafayette Photography are the official photographers for MIC who have been authorised to take photographs on the day of graduation. Should you wish to have a photograph taken by a professional photographer, you should select your package and pay for this online at Lafayette Photography online booking will close at 12 noon on the day before your graduation day. There will be no payments accepted on the day of graduation and all bookings must be pre-ordered.
