Official Opening of TARA and Tailteann

A new building, entitled TARA (Teaching, Recreational, and Auditorium space), together with Tailteann, were officially opened by An Taoiseach, Brian Cowen TD.

Friday 24 September saw the long-awaited official opening of two campus buildings, TARA and Tailteann with then Taoiseach, Mr. Brian Cowen, TD in attendance.

The TARA building doubled the previous capacity of the College with 8,500 square metres of additional space. The four-storey building, which was built at a cost of €17 million, contains a 500 seat auditorium, four large lecture theatres, a stimulated classroom, microteaching rooms, meeting rooms, teaching laboratories, computer laboratories, seminar rooms, a mediation room, counselling rooms, Students’ Union facilities and an enormous student forum.
