The Library Building houses specialist facilities for the Department of Media and Communication Studies such as editing suites and a simulated television studio.

The College canteen is located on the ground floor of the Foundation Building and offers a menu of hot and cold food and drinks.

Located in the Library Building, Wired FM gives MIC students the opportunity to present and produce their own radio show. Any MIC student can volunteer and get involved in Limerick's student radio station.

Students can avail of quiet study spaces throughout the campus. There is also an Assistive Technology Room which has height adjustable desks and computer software to assist students with disabilities.

The Lime Tree Theatre is located on our Limerick campus. This 510-seat theatre is one of the city's most loved venues and plays host to the best in local, national and international performing arts.

MIC Thurles Campus Facilities

Step inside and look around the MIC Thurles campus and view the amazing facilities. The campus has been expanded and modernised but maintains its original character.

At MIC Thurles you will have access to both the fantastic facilities on campus and in Thurles Town. Tour the facilities on our Thurles campus. Ciara and Philip will show you around.

Spaces like the Refectory (canteen) maintain the original character of the 19th century structure.

The Croke Library houses a historical collection and consists of approximately 5,000 print books.

The Everard Memorial Chapel dates back to the 1830s and features three beautiful Harry Clarke stained glass windows, including one of St Thomas Aquinas.

MIC Thurles is situated right in the heart of Thurles Town and its beautiful grounds are a great resource for students to enjoy. MIC Thurles students and staff are committed to enhancing sustainability and the campus was recently awarded a Green Flag and is accredited as a Fairtrade College.

Students at MIC Thurles enjoy a range of on campus facilities and resources. Though it still has its original 19th century buildings, much of the site has been completely refurbished and refitted to the highest modern standards in recent years.

MIC Limerick's Courtbrack student accommodation is a purpose-built unit providing quality self-catering accommodation for all undergraduate students (male, female or non-binary).

Courtbrack bedrooms are equipped with a study desk, chair and storage. College Wi-Fi, reception, self-service launderette and nightly security are other features of the facility.

Spread over three floors, the on-campus MIC Thurles accommodation can facilitate 36 students on a single room basis.

MIC Thurles accommodation offers a spacious, communal TV lounge and a self-catering kitchen area. The kitchen includes full cooking facilities such as stoves and microwaves.

Bedrooms in MIC Thurles accommodation are equipped with a single bed, study desk, chair and plenty of storage.
