EDUCATION & PSYCHOLOGY TESTIMONIAL
B.Ed. & Psychology (2005-2009)
I commenced the B. Ed in Education & Psychology course in Mary Immaculate College (MIC) in 2005 and qualified last year. Having just completed my first full year of teaching and being asked to write this article I can think of nothing better than to sit back and reminisce about the four fantastic years I spent in MIC.
The four year course proved to be the best choice I ever made. From day one we were placed in a small cohort and so we quickly became a tight knit group. We worked alongside the B.Ed. students on a daily basis as well as the Arts students who were studying psychology.
The B.Ed course proved to be both challenging yet interesting and the Psychology course strove to widen our minds and encouraged us to think of even the most mundane things in a whole new light. Without a doubt one is as beneficial as the other when working in the classroom. Additionally, the extra year in college and the qualification in Psychology will open many doors for me in the future such as the option of further study in the field of Educational Psychology.
MIC’s college lifestyle is one of a kind. The friendly and sociable atmosphere amongst everybody within the grounds is just immense. MIC is a small community of people all with similar goals and aspirations for their future. The College provides opportunities in all areas from sports clubs to drama societies and from quiz nights to club nights. There is a choice in every corner and a new friendly face to meet along the way. It certainly was the right choice for me and one of the best experiences of my life to date! Best of luck with your future choices and if you are lucky enough to attend MIC, I hope you have as incredible a journey as I had.
