About Us

The Transforming Education through Dialogue (TED) Project, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, was established in 1998 with funds made available through the Higher Education Authority. The project, which is housed under the Curriculum Development Unit (CDU) of the college, currently employs a co-ordinator and project support worker.

 

Mission Statement

The TED Project seeks to harness and develop the strengths and resources of Mary Immaculate College to enable those experiencing educational disadvantage to reach their full potential. 
  

Objectives
  • To work within Mary Immaculate College to support students' understanding of educational disadvantage in a manner which contributes to their professional practice
  • To increase social inclusion within the college

  • To influence and contribute to the development of educational policy vis-à-vis addressing educational disadvantage

  • To work in partnership with other educational stakeholders in identifying needs and designing, conducting, monitoring and evaluating interventions which address educational disadvantage

  • To develop an understanding of educational disadvantage in order to stimulate educational innovation and policy and to promote good practice through research
