Journals are located on the ground floor of the library. Current issues are in alphabetical order by title on display shelving. Back issues are bound and shelved in a separate sequence. Journals are available for use in the library only. The OPAC lists journal holdings and where available gives a link to an electronic version.
The Irish Independent, The Irish Times and The Examiner are available daily. Back issues of each are stored for 3 months. Back issues of the Irish Times are available on microfilm in the AV Library.
Textbooks for primary school classes are located on the ground floor and are arranged by subject. Copies of heavily used textbooks are available at the main issue desk.
The Reference Collection is located on the ground floor. It contains encyclopaedias, directories, dictionaries, indexes and abstracts to journals. Material is available for use in the library only.
The Audio-visual Library is located on the first floor and provides viewing facilities for microform and videotapes. It also contains a range of posters, charts and material useful for education students during teaching practice.
The Children’s Library is located on the first floor. It is designed as the ideal school library and is of particular use to students preparing for Teaching Practice.
