EPPI - Enhanced Parliamentary Papers On Ireland 1801-1922

Griffith's Valuation

Subject: History
Content: The primary valuation of Ireland or Griffith's Valuation was published between 1847 and 1864. It was used to determine the amount of tax each person should pay towards the support of the poor within their poor law union. This involved determining the value of all privately held lands and buildings in rural as well as urban areas. The valuation is arranged by county, barony, poor law union, parish and townland and it lists every landholder and every householder in Ireland.

Content: Over 80,000 bibliographic records of theses, journal articles and books on Irish history. It lists writings on Irish history published since the 1930s, with selected material published in earlier decades. It is hosted by the Royal Irish Academy and freely available.

19th Century US Newspapers

Content:The database provides digital images of both full pages and clipped articles of hundreds of 19th century U.S. newspapers. For each issue, the newspaper is captured cover-to-cover, providing access to every article, advertisement and illustration.


Oireachtas Library & Research Service

Subject: History
Content:  (1) The Documents Laid Collection is composed of government reports, annual accounts, and other important documents that are formally presented to the parliament. The collection dates from the 1920s

(2) The Historical Collection  following Irish independence, the newly established Dáil Library sought out materials for purchase, with a view to building up the Library's collections. These materials are now  freely available to view or download.

U.K Parliamentary Papers (formerly House of Commons Parliamentary Papers)
