Content: An indexing and abstracting tool covering health, social services, psychology, sociology, economics, politics, race relations and education. It covers over 500 journals

Australian Education Index

Subject: Education
Content: Produced by the Australian Council for Educational Research, AEI is an index to materials at all levels of education and related fields, including educational research, policy administration, teacher education, curriculum, educational psychology and library and information science. The focus is information published in Australia, but research about Australian education published overseas is also included. Source documents include journal articles, monographs, research reports, theses, conference papers, legislation, parliamentary debates and newspaper articles. AEI contains records from 1978 onwards

It has particular strengths in educational policy, administration, assessment, evaluation, and special educational needs. It indexes and provides abstracts of journal articles from over 300 journals.

EPPI - Enhanced Parliamentary Papers On Ireland 1801-1922

Subject: Law, History, Education, Public Affairs, Administration & Society
Content: A large database of 15,000 official publications (from Southampton University's unique Ford Collection of Official Publications) relating to all aspects of Irish affairs during the period of the Union (1801-1922), including bills, reports, commissions of inquiry, and the published census reports. It is a rich source for the social history of Ireland, as well as for statistics relating to population, emigration and other subjects. It includes most reports of the Commissioners of National Education in Ireland.

ERIC International

Content: ERIC International consists of two abstract databases which can be searched simultaneously or separately.

Australian Education Index (AUEI) is a comprehensive collection of educational research documents relating to educational trends, policy, and practices. The database is produced by the Cunningham Library at the Australian Council for Educational Research and is Australia's largest source of education information. Coverage includes trends and practices in teaching, learning and educational management. AUEI indexes monographs and periodicals.

ERIC – the Educational Resources Information Center –is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. It contains over 1 million citations covering research documents, journal articles, technical reports, program descriptions and evaluations and curricular materials in the field of education

Google Scholar

Subject: Multidisciplinary
Content: Google Scholar enables you to search for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research. The service can be used to find articles from a wide variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web.

Teachers TV

Subject: Education
Content: An online collection of streaming video developed specifically for training and developing teachers. It contains teaching demonstrations, lectures, documentaries, and primary-source footage of students and teachers in actual classrooms. Created by the UK's Department of Education between 2008-2011. This is a free resource.


Web of Science

Subject: Multidisciplinary, Science, Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities
Content: A multi-disciplinary citation database covering over 10,000 of the world's highest impact research journals. It consists of the three databases: the Science Citation Index Expanded (1945-present), the Social Sciences Citation Index (1956-present) and Arts & Humanities Citation Index (1975-present).). It also provides cited reference searching.
