Céimí Máistreachta i Staidéar ar an Meáin Éireannacha ceapaithe ar Bhord TG4

D’fhógair Pat Rabbitte, an tAire Cumarsáide, ocht gceapachán nua ar Bhord TG4 agus ina measc tá Michelle Ní Chróinín, iarchéimí de chuid an choláiste seo. Is ó Bhaile Bhúirne ó dhúchas do Mhichelle, a d’fhág an Coláiste i 2010 le Céim na Máistreachta i Staidéar ar na Meáin Éireannacha. Tá sí ag obair faoi láthair mar Oifigeach Preasa agus Faisnéise in Ollscoil na hÉireann, Gaillimh agus is ionadaí tofa í ar Údarás Rialaithe na hOllscoile ó 2009.

Is é TG4 an bealach teilifíse náisiúnta Gaeilge, craoltóir seirbhíse poiblí, bunaithe faoi reachtaíocht agus maoinithe go poiblí chun réimse leathan d’ábhar d’ardchaighdeán trí mheán na Gaeilge do lucht féachana i gcéin ’s i gcóngar.

Tá breis is 15 bliana taithí ag Michelle sa chumarsáid, i mbainistíocht tionscadail, i mbainistíocht imeachtaí, i riaracháin poiblí agus in obair leis na meáin agus i gcaidreamh poiblí freisin. Ghnóthaigh sí céim sa Cheol ó Choláiste na hOllscoile, Corcaigh; Ard-Dioplóma i Riarachán na n-Ealaín ó Ollscoil na hÉireann, Gaillimh agus Ard-Dioplóma i gCaidreamh Poiblí ón PRII agus le déanaí bhain sí amach Céim na Máistreachta i Staidéar ar na Meáin Éireannacha ó Choláiste Mhuire gan Smál, Luimneach. Tá Michelle oilte chomh maith i léiriú Teilifíse agus Físe agus tá a clár faisnéise féin eisithe agus craolta aici do TG4 i 1998 dar teideal Bess, Mo Shin Sheanmháthair.

Ag trácht ar an gceapachán, dúirt Dr Rosemary Day, Ceann Roinn na Meán agus Cumarsáide go raibh an Roinn an-sásta go deo an nuacht seo a chloisint agus gur bhuntáiste an-mhór don stáisiún teilifíse é Michelle a bheith ceapaithe ar bhord TG4.
