Pregnancy and Parenting Support

 

If you become pregnant or if you are a single parent while at Mary Immaculate College, the Health Promotion Team can guide you to the many caring and supporting organisations, both within the college and outside.

A member from the health promotion team will guide you through a checklist preparing you for birth and parenthood.

Areas that this checklist includes are:

• Medical care
  
• Counselling
  
• Educational support
  
• Rent Allowance
  
• Accommodation
  
• Medical Card
  
• Financial Support
  
• Social Welfare Payments
  
• Money Advice and Budgeting
  
• Maintenance
  
• Childcare can be arranged locally/Early
• Booking is advised. Early bookings are very important, so please book as early as three months into pregnancy

This checklist acts as a guide to ensure that you will be fully supported physically, emotionally, socially, educationally and financially both during your pregnancy and during parenthood.

Parenting and Students classes tkae place every Monday from 2-3pm in C7. Or alternatively you can make a private appointment with Helen O'Dea for Monday or Tuesday by calling to the Health Promotion Office, No. 4, Áras McAuley.
