First Aid

 

First Aid ImageMary Immaculate College has trained staff first aiders available during office hours to provide first aid treatment. First aid kits and defibrillators are available throughout the campus. The names, departments and telephone numbers of MIC First Aiders are included in the document titled ‘List of First Aiders’ below, on the Health and Safety Notice Board and in the Reception areas.

There are numerous first aid boxes located in buildings around the Campus, the first aid boxes are checked for usage and restocked as required and on a regular basis. All of the first aid boxes are maintained and suitably marked as per the General Applications Regulations 2007.

Security staff can also be contacted to assist, particularly during out of normal office opening hours. The Security Office, Main Reception, Library Reception and Tailteann Reception has well stocked first aid supplies.

The Medical Centre is located in Áras McCauley on the Main Campus. The College Nurse may be requested for students during opening hours. The Nurse is available to staff requiring medical attention in the event of emergencies.

 

Medications

First Aiders or members of the College Staff are not permitted under the First Aid Regulations 2007 to dispense any form of medication. No medication is stored in the First Aid Boxes. Members of staff who require medication are responsible for their own requirements.
