Graduate Certificate/Diploma/MEd in Professional Studies in Education

There is now universal recognition that teachers’ professional learning needs to be supported throughout the professional lifespan. In its policy on the continuum of teacher education, the Teaching Council emphasises the importance of school-based enquiry by teachers, both individually and collaboratively with others as part of professional learning communities (Teaching Council, 2011).

The Graduate Certificate/Diploma/MEd in Professional Studies in Education has been designed to support teachers in this type of professional learning. The opportunity for school-based research and the elective modules allows for specialisisation in particular areas.
