  • Feidhmiú mar thacóir agus mar áisitheoir do phobal uile an choláiste agus do thionscnaimh Ghaeilge/theanga laistigh de CMS agus idir CMS agus institiúid/eagrais eile
  • Oiliúint a chur ar fhoirne an Choláiste sa Ghaeilge bunaithe ar a riachtanais
  • Tacaíocht a thabhairt d'ullmhú scéime an Choláiste agus d'fhorálacha eile an Achta Teanga
  • Réimse leathan d'imeachtaí a eagrú i rith na bliana don bhfoireann
  • Dátheangachas – Comhoibriú leis na rannóga éagsúla chun a chinntiú go mbeadh comharthaíocht/fógraí eolais an choláiste go hiomlán dhátheangach, chomh maith leis an suíomh idirlín, ráitis preas, foirmeacha, litreacha agus mar sin de.

The Irish Language Officer has a central and important role in raising the profile and status of Irish in college. This will be achieved in the following ways:

  • Act as facilitator and support to all staff in college and associated language projects/initiatives both within college and in conjunction with other institutions
  • The provision of Irish language classes for staff who wish to improve their language skills, based on need
  • Act as facilitator for the implementation of the various provisions of the Language Act, including the formulation of an associated Scheme
  • The organisation of events throughout the year to promote and encourage the use of Irish in a relaxed and informal way
