Applying directly to a MIC degree course as a Mature Learner

Mature learners wishing to apply for a degree programme in MIC must apply for entry through the CAO website www.cao.ie. To qualify as a mature student, a person must be at least 23 years of age on 1st January of the year of registration. 1st February is the normal deadline for applications with late applications accepted up to May 1st.

All mature applicants will be invited to attend for an interview and a short written test. Mature applicants who do not meet the normal minimum entry requirements may be considered for admission if, having attended for interview and written test, they satisfy the College Authorities as to their ability to benefit from and sustain the programme.

The Academic Learning Centre also offers both the Pre-University Programme and the Foundation Certificate to mature learners who wish to continue their education by sampling university-level education before committing to a degree programme.
