Friday 15th April:

An Aisling a Cumadh: 1916 agus an Éigse/The Vision Dreamed: 1916 and the Arts.
A day-long gathering which will explore and celebrate creative responses from within the revolutionary generation. A special screening of the celebrated Mise Éire film will be introduced by Peadar Ó Riada. Additional events include an exhibition on the role of the Irish language and Conradh na Gaeilge in the years preceding 1916 and a visit to the de Bhál manuscript collection in the Limerick Diocesan Archives. The Tionól will take place through the Irish language; non-Irish speakers will also be welcomed and facilitated.

Irish Scientists in 1916: Reflections on their Contributions
Display of the personal and professional biographies of eight Irish scientists of the time with textual and visual presentation materials.
Coordinators: Dr. Anne O'Dwyer, Dr. Maeve Liston, Dr. Miriam Hamilton & Colin Hamilton.

An Chuilt Chomórtha: Commemorative Quilt Project
A commemorative patchwork quilt to be created as a cooperative exercise by various members of the College community.

'From a Glorious Dream to Wink and Nod': Depictions of 1916 in the work of Ernie O'Malley, John McGahern and Sebastian Barry'. Dr. Eamon Maher, President, National Centre for Franco-Irish Studies, IT Tallagh.

Maloney's Dream / Brionglóid Maloney
A new play for children by Branar Téatar do Pháistí, Artisits-in-Residence at MIC, set against the background of Easter 1916.
